About Me

I bridge the gap between complex security challenges and effective solutions. With a unique background spanning biotechnology and cybersecurity, I bring a distinctive perspective to information security that combines scientific precision with technical expertise.

My Journey

My path to cybersecurity wasn’t conventional. I began my academic journey at Essex County College with an Associate’s degree in Pre-Medicine, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Rutgers University–New Brunswick. This scientific foundation instilled in me a methodical approach to problem-solving and analytical thinking—skills that would prove invaluable in my cybersecurity career.

The transition to cybersecurity came from a growing fascination with how technology and security intersect with our daily lives. I saw how vulnerable systems could impact everything from personal privacy to national security, and I was drawn to the challenge of protecting digital assets and information.

Professional Evolution

My evolution as a security professional has been marked by continuous growth and certification. I’ve earned multiple industry-recognized credentials, including:

  • CompTIA Security+
  • CC – Certified in Cybersecurity

Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, further deepening my expertise in this rapidly evolving field.

I’ve been actively engaged on TryHackMe, honing my skills in vulnerability discovery, penetration testing, and security reporting. This hands-on experience has been invaluable in developing my practical security capabilities and keeping current with emerging threats and techniques.

My Approach to Security

I believe effective security requires a balanced approach that addresses both technical vulnerabilities and human factors. My security philosophy is built on several core principles:

  1. Defense in Depth: Multiple layers of security provide the most robust protection
  2. Proactive Identification: Identifying vulnerabilities before they can be exploited
  3. Practical Implementation: Security measures must balance protection with usability
  4. Continuous Improvement: Security is never “done”—it requires ongoing refinement
  5. Knowledge Sharing: Contributing to the security community strengthens our collective defense

Areas of Expertise

My areas of technical expertise include:

  • Network Security Architecture: Designing secure network infrastructures that protect critical assets
  • Vulnerability Management: Systematic identification and remediation of security weaknesses
  • Cloud Security: Implementing secure cloud environments with particular expertise in AWS
  • Penetration Testing: Conducting thorough security assessments to identify vulnerabilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring security measures meet requirements across financial and healthcare sectors

Beyond technical skills, I bring strong communication abilities, translating complex security concepts into understandable terms for stakeholders at all levels.

Current Focus

I’m currently focused on the growing convergence of healthcare systems and technology—a natural extension of my educational background and security expertise. As healthcare becomes increasingly digitized, ensuring the security and privacy of sensitive patient information has never been more critical.

I’m also deeply interested in the implementation of zero trust architecture in complex environments, particularly in organizations that must balance security with accessibility.

Beyond Work

When I’m not immersed in cybersecurity, you might find me contributing to open-source security projects, participating in CTF competitions, or mentoring aspiring security professionals.

I believe in giving back to the community that has supported my professional growth. To that end, I regularly share knowledge through my GitHub repository and participation in security forums.

Let’s Connect

I’m always open to connecting with fellow security professionals, organizations seeking security expertise, or anyone interested in learning more about cybersecurity.
